This Week: February 2nd

Last year, I really enjoyed reading sports-themed romance novels. For the most part, these books tend to be “clean” (aka: no explicit descriptions of sex) and are fun, quick reads. And, with the popularity of the Traylor romance, girls everywhere are wondering how they can land a sports star, too. In preparation for Valentine’s Day this week, we’re reading more fun sports-themed romance books, but I’ll also be introducing you to the Queens of Crime – the all-female mystery writers’ guild that worked to solve a real-life murder mystery in Golden Age Europe.

Here’s the books I’m looking forward to discussing with you this week. Grab your copies of these books by clicking the images below:

Sponsored Read – Week 6

The Queens of Crime

by Marie Benedict

Posting on Saturday, February 8th

I have always been intrigued by Agatha Christie, but even more so since reading The Christie Affair by Nina de Gramont. This book picks up just after Christie’s disappearance and explores her friendship with Dorothy Sayers and the other Queens of Crime – a group of female crime writers driven to find their place in a still male-driven industry in 1930’s Great Britan.
