April Recap & May Prompts

What’s that old saying? April showers bring May flowers? We definitely got our share of April showers here where we live – did you? Today we say goodbye to a month of Spring and flower related books and hello to books about moms. Let’s take a look back at what we read in April:

This month, I reviewed 13 books – 7 audiobooks and 6 physical copies. Let’s take a look back the reviews of those books – click below to visit the reviews:

April saw five 5-Star reviews, more than we usually see, but only 1 earned a perfect 5.0 score – Anxious People! I can’t say enough about this book – the discussion of mental health, community, and the butterfly effect throughout the book blew my mind!

May Reading Plan

The May theme is all about Moms! With Mother’s Day coming up, I thought it only fitting to look for books staring great relationships between moms and their children. We are also reading books set in Mexico for Battle of Puebla Day (aka: Cinco de Mayo), books by an Asian author for Asian American Heritage month, books set at a college or high school as we get ready for graduations, and books about World War II in honor of Memorial Day.

This month’s prompts for the US States challenge are:

States:

  • Louisiana
  • Maine
  • Maryland
  • Massachusetts
  • Michigan

Other books I’m reading this month:

  • 18. Nonfiction: The Patriots
  • 19. Sponsored: Ladies Day
  • 20. TBR Stack: There’s No Coming Back From This
  • 21. Sponsored: A Happier Life
  • 22. TBR Stack: tbd

I can’t wait to read these great books with you – keep an eye out for the weekly previews on Sundays for what I’m reviewing each week!
