A Study in Scarlet

In this review of A Study in Scarlet by Arthur Conan Doyle, I revisit the first appearance of Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John Watson. While the novel helped define classic detective fiction with its focus on observation, deduction, and forensic detail, its lengthy shift to the American West slowed the momentum for me. Still, this foundational mystery remains an important read for fans of Victorian crime fiction, iconic literary detectives, and the origins of the Sherlock Holmes legacy.
