We are in full on holiday here with the start of November – Thanksgiving is fast approaching and Christmas not too far behind. And as the holiday season approaches, the weather is turning cooler and the community events start in full swing. I’m enjoying the fall festivals and carnivals happening around town, but am looking forward to getting some time again to read – we have great prompts this month, including our monthly prompt of “brown”.

Over the past few years, we’ve read a few books that fit with this theme. Here’s the ones that received full reviews on the site:
- Abe, David S. Reynolds
- Daisy Jones & The Six, Taylor Jenkins Reid
- The Invisible Hour, Alice Hoffman
- Lonesome Dove, Larry McMurtry
- Star Spangled Banner, Marc Ferris
Looking for more? Here’s a few you might like:
Brown Covers
- Into Africa, Martin Dugard
- My Own Words, Ruth Bader Ginsberg
- Sense and Sensibility, Jane Austen
- Wuthering Heights, Emily Bronte
Brown in the Title
- Brown Girl Dreaming, Jacqueline Woodson
- Get a Life, Chloe Brown, Talia Hibbert
- The Innocence of Father Brown, GK Chesterton
- The Man in the Brown Suit, Agatha Christie
What books would you add to this list?
When I hear of the word brown, I immediately think of “Brown Eyed Girl” – it was one of my favorite songs growing up. I had a challenge finding more songs for this theme though – there really aren’t many out there. What would you add?
