Confronting Evil

Thank you NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for sending this book for review consideration. All opinions are my own.

Bill O’Reilly and Josh Hammer’s new release Confronting Evil continues on the success of their previous book – Confronting the Presidents, looking into the men behind the legacies and legends of some of the biggest names in history.  This new book follows infamous men throughout centuries of history from Genghis Kahn all the way to the Mexican drug cartels poisoning our communities today.  Providing back stories and little-known facts along their rise to power, the authors show how just one event or one decision changed the course of history.

I give Tom Confronting Evil 5 out of 5 starsI have enjoyed O’Reilly’s Killing series and now am enjoying the Confronting series just as much!  These books speak to the history lover in me, but also the need for social justice and fairness in the world.  I love the narrative the authors created around the backstories of each of these leaders – some of the facts may be well know, but it is presented in an engaging way that makes history come alive.  It was so easy to take in and remember from the way it was written.  I also learned so much in this book I had never heard before.

I would direct this book to readers over 16 given the discussion of war, violence, and other crimes discussed within.  As I mention, this book would make a great read for history lovers as well as political science and foreign policy fiends.  I would also recommend this book to readers who have enjoyed O’Reilly’s other works and books by Brian Killmeade or David McCullough.  I enjoyed this book immensely, especially the audio version – I hope you will, too!

Confronting Evil releases this coming Tuesday, September 9th.  You can preorder your copy today on our Bookshop.org page!
