This has been an amazing month of book choices! Not only did we get to talk about some of my favorite authors’ newest releases, we had so many phenomenal stories that have stuck with me even weeks later! What are you favorite stories from this month?
In July, I reviewed 11 books – 4 audiobooks and 7 physical copies. Let’s take a look back the reviews of those books – click below to visit the reviews:
5 Stars
- Apostle’s Cove, William Kent Krueger

- We Are All Guilty Here, Karin Slaughter
- Where the Wildflowers Grow, Terah Shelton Harris
4 Stars
- Bel Canto, Ann Patchett
- Friends to Lovers, Sally Blakely
- Law of Attraction, Allison Leotta
- That Birthday in Barbados, Inglath Cooper
- The Castaways, Elin Hilderbrand
- William Henry Harrison, Howard Henry Peckham
3 Stars
- The Bungalow, Sarah Jio
This month, we had four 5-star books – all new releases from some of my favorite authors. Each of these novels was special in different ways – two law enforcement thrillers, a story of friends that become family, and another about redemption and community. Choosing a favorite book this month feels a little bit like choosing a favorite child – I have been anxiously waiting on each of these to hit shelves since first hearing about them! With that said, only one book left me in awe of story to the very last page and wanting more. I hate that it also happens to be the one you’ll be waiting on the longest to hit shelves, but I know you will adore Terah Shelton Harris’ Where the Wildflowers Grow as much as I did. Redemption, healing, and building community when you have none are at the heart of this book and I cannot say enough good things about it. I’m also very excited about the special edges that will be coming on this one! Preorder your copy today before it’s February 2026 release date!
August Reading Plan
This is back to school month around here, so things get a little hectic. We are honoring that this month by reading a short book to start the month. We are also reading fairytales and coming of age novels to honor the students headed back to class, both the tiny and the teens. But my favorite part of the month is the theme – coral. Like turquoise, there are so many shades of this color and so many takes on how to incorporate this theme into your reading!

A few sponsored books I’m reading this month:
- The Pizza Man, Eddy Twice
- Ask for Andrea, Noelle West Ihli
- The Second Story Bookshop, Denise Hunter
- The Mad Wife, Meagan Church
I can’t wait to read these great books with you – keep an eye out for the weekly previews on Sundays for what I’m reviewing each week!
