This week is all about birthdays! While it’s not quite my birthday, it is in the next few days and I am reading some great books to celebrate! We are reading about a birthday vacation that changes everything, a presidential biography, and a phenomenal book by one of my favorite authors! What are you reading this week?
Here’s the books I’m looking forward to discussing with you this week. Grab your copies of these books by clicking the images below:

RWL Reading Challenge – Week 30: About a Birthday
That Birthday in Barbados
by Inglath Cooper
Posting on Tuesday, July 22nd
This was almost my choice for last week’s prompt – I have always wanted to visit Barbados! This is a great novel about a hardworking CEO who takes a birthday vacation after her life is turned upside down, only for it to be turned upside down one more time. Romance, family drama, and a beautiful setting make this a great read!
Here’s some other great options for this prompt:
- Bestseller: Party of Liars, Kelsey Cox
- General Fiction: The Birthday of the World, Ursula K Le Guin
- Romance: Birthday Girl, Penelope Douglas
- Thriller: The Birthday Party, Wendy Dranfield
- Nonfiction: Birthday Letters, Ted Hughes
William Henry Harrison: Young Tippecanoe
by Howard Peckham
Posting Thursday, July 24th on Instagram
Following our pattern of reading presidential biographies, we are reading about Harrison this week. This book is directed towards younger audiences and would be a great place to start for your students!
Sponsored Read – Week 30
Where the Wildflowers Grow
by Terah Shelton Harris
Posting on Saturday, July 26th
This is my birthday present to myself! I have met this author twice now and have been not-so-patiently-waiting for this book since reading her second book last year! Tackling hard topics with grace and insight that connects readers to her characters, this author will quickly become one of your favorites, too!
