At this point in the summer, I’m thinking about travel. I don’t usually take vacations in the summer because it’s like a sauna in the Georgia heat, but it’s a great time to start planning a fall getaway. This week’s prompt has us thinking about those vacations, too, as we read books set in a place from our travel bucket list. My bucket list includes places like Ireland, Italy, the French Riviera, and Montana. What places are on your travel bucket list?
Beyond just talking about vacations, we’re looking at upcoming book festivals you can travel to as well. There are so many great ones coming up. We’re also reading a great new release that would make a fantastic beach read, too!
Here’s the books I’m looking forward to discussing with you this week. Grab your copies of these books by clicking the images below:

The Bungalow
by Sarah Jio
Posting on Tuesday, July 15th
Bora-Bora has always fascinated me – a strategic base during WWII and a dormant volcano, it’s a beautiful place. This novel features dual timelines and explores the island’s WWII history.
Here’s some other great options for this prompt:
- Bestseller: Three Junes, Julia Glass (Greece)
- General Fiction: Beside the Turquoise Sea, Emma Burstall (Crete)
- Romance: East of the Sun, Julia Gregson (India)
- Thriller: Darkest Truth, Catherine Kirwin (Ireland)
- Nonfiction: Lost Kingdom, Julia Flynn Siler (Hawaii)
Upcoming Book Festivals
