We Are All Guilty Here

Thank you NetGalley and William Morrow for sending this book for review consideration. All opinions are my own.

North Falls, Georgia, is a quiet factory town.  The community has seen it’s share of scandal and secrets over the years, but nothing like this.  Two girls have disappeared during the town’s Independence Day picnic and their bikes were found mangled.  The thing about small towns is that everyone knows everything about everyone, but no one knows where these girls are.  Deputy Emmy Clifton is desperate to find the girls – one is her best friend’s daughter.  Will that desperation help solve the case, or will it lead to tragedy for the town?

The best-selling author of the Will Trent series is back with a new investigative team you’ll love just as much in We Are All Guilty Here.  Karin Slaughter’s new North Falls series is set in rural South Georgia, not the big city of Atlanta, but delivers the same intellectually engaging, spine-tingling thriller readers have grown to expect from the author.  With an underlying current of family drama and redemption, Slaughter keeps readers on the edge of their seat until the very last page.  This book will make you want to leave the big city for North Falls…if only the girls weren’t disappearing.

I give We Are All Guilty Here 5 out of 5 starsThe best part about this book for me was how realistic the small town and its citizens are.  Having grown up in a small Georgia mill town, this felt like my hometown.  I loved the strong female investigators and dialogue between all the characters in this book.  My only complaint was the chapter length – some chapters were very long.  However, I did not want to put this book down once I started.  I can’t wait to read the next book in the series!

If you are a fan of the Will Trent series, you are going to love this one, too!  I would recommend this book for suspense or mystery book clubs – there’s so much to unpack around the investigations and the family.  If you love this book, you should also check out Kelsey Cox’s Party of Liars or Stacy Willingham’s Forget Me Not!

I was so excited to see this book Netgalley this month!  I have been a fan of Slaughter’s since starting the Will Trent series a few years ago.  I love the cover and the illusion of lightening bugs, too.  I hope you love this book as much as me!
