June Recap & July Prompts

We are at the halfway point through the year – are you halfway through your reading goal for 2025? If not, you still have time to catch up! And, if you don’t, that’s ok, too. The most important part is enjoying your time reading a good book. We read a lot of really good books this month and it was a tough choice for top book of the month – which was your favorite?

In June, I reviewed 10 books – 5 audiobooks and 5 physical copies. Let’s take a look back the reviews of those books – click below to visit the reviews:

  • Martin Van Buren, James Bradle

This month, we had three 5-star books – 2 great new releases from two of my favorite authors and one beautiful novel from an author I was just introduced to. Each of these novels was special in different ways – a law enforcement thriller, a small-town romance with magical realism, and a fantasy that will pull at your heart strings. Choosing a favorite was not easy this month at all. My favorite book of June delivered suspense, some family drama, and a little romance along the way. More than anything, it took me back to a storyline and characters that I have loved over several books. Dead Line by Marc Cameron is releasing at the end of July, but you can preorder a copy in our Bookshop store!

July Reading Plan

July is a fun month for me – it’s my birthday month! That’s why we’re reading books about birthdays later this month. It’s also why we’re reading some of my favorite categories – a book set somewhere on your travel bucket list and a book by your favorite author. We are also celebrating with my favorite color as our monthly theme – turquoise! It always makes me think of beautiful sea water, so beach reads seem appropriate for this month, too!

A few sponsored books I’m reading this month:

  • We Are All Guilty Here, Karen Slaughter
  • Apostle’s Cove, William Kent Krueger
  • Where the Wildflowers Grow, Terah Shelton-Harris

I can’t wait to read these great books with you – keep an eye out for the weekly previews on Sundays for what I’m reviewing each week!
