We are heavy into Spring cleaning and resetting at our house now that birthday season is over, which means I’m spending quite a bit of time listening to audiobooks while I work. My grandmother used to talk about her father listening to serial radio dramas a few nights a week after dinner – I think of listening to audiobooks a bit like that. You listen a few to a few chapters, then move on to something else and come back to it another day. Do you like audiobooks?
Here’s the books I’m looking forward to discussing with you this week. Grab your copies of these books by clicking the images below:

RWL Reading Challenge – Week 19: A Memoir
I’m Glad My Mom Died
by Jennette McCurdy
Posting on Tuesday, May 6th
McCurdy’s memoir was tabloid fodder for months after it first came out – drama around her time with Disney, with her mother, with substance abuse. This book covers it all.
Since this prompt is a genre in itself, here’s some other memoirs that fit our monthly theme of yellow:
- Boat Baby, Vicky Nguyen
- I’ll Tell You When I’m Home, Hala Alyan
- The In-Between, Hadley Vlahos
- The Last American Road Trip, Sarah Kendzior
- Lovely One, Kentanji Brown-Jackson
- You Deserve Good Gelato, Kacie Rose
- The Young Man, Annie Ernaux
