May Theme: Yellow

In 1868, the very first Decoration Day was held to honor Union soldiers killed in action during the Civil War. Now known as Memorial Day, we are honoring over 150 years of this tradition with our reading challenges this month and our monthly theme of yellow. What books would you add to this list?

When I think “yellow music”, I think “Yellow Submarine” and “Mellow Yellow” – can you tell I grew up on 60’s and 70’s music? I absolutely fell in love with some new artists while putting together this month’s reading playlists though. Beyond these classics, I found new bluegrass and international artists I’ve never heard before that have put out some beautiful tracks. I hope this will keep you inspired and focused while you read!
