Happy Easter, friends! Our family is taking time offline this week to remember why this day is so special for us, and also to celebrate your youngest’s birthday at the end of the week. This week’s posts are prescheduled and I will be returning messages periodically throughout the week. This week, we’re venturing through two of my favorite genres – historical fiction and steamy romance, and also taking a look back at all the great books we’ve read this month!
Here’s the books I’m looking forward to discussing with you this week. Grab your copies of these books by clicking the images below:

RWL Reading Challenge – Week 17: With an Animal on the Cover
My Name is Victoria
by Lucy Worsley
Posting on Tuesday, April 22nd
This is an interesting take on Queen Victoria’s early life in Kensington Palace, told through the eyes of her companion – the daughter of Sir John Conroy. One warning – while Worlsey is a noted historian, this book is much more fiction than history.
Here’s some other great books that would work for this prompt:
- Bestseller: To Kill a Mockingbird, Harper Lee
- General Fiction: War Horse, Michael Morpurgo
- Romance: A Certain Kind of Starlight, Heather Webber
- Thriller: The Raven, Edgar Allan Poe
- Nonfiction: Furiously Happy, Jenny Lawson

When two life-long friends are met with a sudden housing crisis, they find themselves trying to figure out how to find an apartment they can afford together. Add on the fact that she needs health insurance and his is fantastic…there’s one thing that might work: a fake marriage. But when their long-term hidden feelings for each other start coming out into the open, fake doesn’t feel so fake any more.
