February Recap & March Prompts

It was another month of cold temps and snow (!!) here in the south this month – we haven’t had a year like this since our family moved into our current home in 2014! Hoping you have fared well and warm this month though. As we are taking a look back at the events of the month, I’m actually on the road and headed to ring in the new month at the Amelia Island Book Festival this weekend in Florida. If you’ll be there, drop me a note – I’d love to meet up with you between author pannels!

In February, I reviewed 10 books – 5 audiobooks and 5 physical copies. Let’s take a look back the reviews of those books – click below to visit the reviews:

3 Stars

This is the second month in a row with four 5-star books! 2025 is off to a great start with our book choices! It was a really tough call to choose our top book for the month – two of our preview books were by some of my favorite authors and that did not make it easy! At the end of the day, it really came down to which book was both most entertaining and most educating – The Queens of Crime by Marie Benedict. Seeing what felt like a behind-the-scenes look into the lives of some of my favorite female crime writers and a peak inside their friendship was fascinating! I had no idea about the true crime aspect of their relationship either!

    March Reading Plan

March is both Irish-American and Women’s History Month and we’re honoring both with our prompts this month. I thought it would also be a good time to look into books that are in a category I love – mysteries, and look back at our own history and books written the year we were born. What are you most looking forward to this month?

A few sponsored books I’m reading this month:

    • The Deathly Grimm, Kathryn Purdie
    • The Book Club for Troublesome Women, Marie Bostwick
    • Party of Liars, Kelsey Cox

I can’t wait to read these great books with you – keep an eye out for the weekly previews on Sundays for what I’m reviewing each week!
