Have you thawed out from all the snow we got across the country this month? Here in Central Georgia we got two rounds of ice/snow! Not what we are used to at all, but it made for some great reading time – a warm beverage, snow falling outside, and a cuddly blanket completed the perfect reading experience. I read a lot of books in January and had four 5-Star reads. What was your favorite this month?
In January, I reviewed 14 books – 6 audiobooks and 8 physical copies. Let’s take a look back the reviews of those books – click below to visit the reviews:
5 Stars
- The Answer is No, Fredrik Backman
- Designated Survivor, John H. Matthews
- Follow Me to Africa, Penny Haw
- Head Cases, John McMahon
4 Stars
- American Rebels, Nina Sankovitch
- A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, Holly Jackson
- Doctor Zhivago, Boris Pasternak
- Girl, Serpent, Thorn, Melissa Bashardoust
- Lethal Prey, John Sandford
- The Love Elixir of Augusta Stone, Lynda Cohen Loigman
- She Doesn’t Have a Clue, Jenny Elder Moke
3 Stars
- Bridget Jones’ Diary, Helen Fielding
- Daughters of the Fatherland, Jericho J. Johnson
- Of Men and Muskets, Robert P Broadwater
While we had four 5-Star books, only one received a perfect 5.0 rating – The Answer is No! Backman is one of my favorite authors and I was excited to see his latest release available through my Kindle account. With his unique way of including mental health and community involvement into the story, Backman has yet again delivered a tale every reader should pick up. I have been shouting this one from the rooftops since I finished it!
February Reading Plan
The two most famous aspects of February are Black History Month and Valentines Day and we’re honoring both with our weekly prompts! The 11th is also International Day of Women and Girls in Science – there are so many great books about female scientists! What are you most looking forward to this month?

A few sponsored books I’m reading this month:
- The Queens of Crime, Marie Benedict
- Till the Last Piece, Kenneth Cruz
- The Last Secret Agent, Pippa Latour & Jude Dobson
- Tom Clancy Line of Demarcation, M.P. Woodward
I can’t wait to read these great books with you – keep an eye out for the weekly previews on Sundays for what I’m reviewing each week!
