When I started Read With Lindsey, I wanted to use my reading challenges to finally take in some classics I missed in school and gain exposure to authors I might not have otherwise read. I also wanted to use this platform to help connect readers and authors, sharing the inspiration behind great new books and maybe uncovering some details you missed while reading it. This week does just that.
Here’s the books I’m looking forward to discussing with you this week. Grab your copies of these books by clicking the images below:

RWL Reading Challenge – Week 2: Book over 300 pages
Doctor Zhivago
by Boris Pasternak
Posting on Tuesday, January 7th
Most AP English students read Doctor Zhivago at my high school. If you miss it there, most college literature classes include it in the syllabus. I managed to miss it in both places. I was pleasantly surprised by this book – there were some really difficult to follow passages, but this was such a good book!
Here’s some other great books that would work for this prompt in popular genres:
- Bestseller: Eleanor & Park, Rainbow Rowell
- General Fiction: The Knife of Never Letting Go, Patrick Ness
- Romance: Just One Day, Gayle Forman
- Thriller: Killers of a Certain Age, Deanna Rayborn
- Nonfiction: Regan: His life and his legend, Max Boot
