January Theme: White

As we start a new RWL Reading Challenge, we are starting a new pattern of monthly themes…colors! Each month, I’ll select a color that I connect with that month and try to choose books who meet both our weekly themes and these color choices.

When I think about January, I immediately think of cold weather and snow…which make me think of white! You can take this part of the challenge two ways – covers in the color white, or books with white in the title.

Over the past few years, we’ve read a few books that fit with this theme. Here’s the ones that received full reviews on the site:

What books would you add to this list?

Our playlist this month features songs with white in the title and also from “white” albums. I also looked for titles featuring “white” in other languages like blanco (Spanish), hvid (Danish), and biely (Slovak). I am aiming to keep our playlists around 90 minutes this year – I usually read in 60-minute blocks, but there’s always those books that keep me wanting one more chapter, so I’m going a little longer in case you find yourself in the same situation!
