How in the world is it already Christmas?? If your house is anything like mine, you’ve got presents crammed in a closet that still need to be wrapped and way too many holiday events in the next few days. So, let this be your reminder – it’s 3 sleeps till Christmas….start your wrapping!
This week, we’re getting in the holiday mood with some cute and quick Christmas-themed reads. We are also traveling to the US Virgin Islands to finish out our US States reading challenge and looking back at all the books we read this month. Keep an eye on our Instagram account Friday as we announce our top 2025 book, too!
Here’s the books I’m looking forward to discussing with you this week. Grab your copies of these books by clicking the images below:

RWL Reading Challenge – Week 52: Set at the holidays
The Twelve Topsy-Turvy, Very Messy Days of Christmas
by James Patterson and Tad Safran
Posting on Monday, December 23rd
I’ve had this book in my TBR stack for over a year, so I was really glad to have the opportunity to read it! This is a really cute holiday read about keeping a focus on what’s most important through the season.
Here’s some other great books that would work for this prompt in popular genres:
- Bestseller: Skipping Christmas, John Grisham
- General Fiction: Holiday Romance, Catherine Walsh
- Romance: Bright Lights, Big Christmas, Mary Kay Andrews
- Thriller: Twelve Days of Murder, Jason Wrench
- Nonfiction: The Man Who Invented Christmas, Les Standiford
- Kids: How the Grinch Stole Christmas!, Dr. Seuss

Winter in Paradise

This wasn’t my original choice for the US Territories, but I made a change when I read the plot summary for this one. The novel starts on New Years Eve, so it felt appropriate as we finish the year. I think you’ll like this one!

- Bestseller: The Marriage of Opposites, Alice Hoffman
- General Fiction: Land of Love and Drowning, Tiphani Yanique
- Romance: The Perfect Stranger, Alison Kent
- Thriller: Pago Pago Tango, John Enright
- Nonfiction: We Fed an Island, Jose Andres
- Kids: Keeper of the Night, Kimberly Willis Holt
