This really is my favorite time of year – cozy sweater weather, time with the ones I love, good food, and the lights! I am a sucker for good holiday light displays!
In our house, we celebrate Christmas primarily, but we like to teach our kids about other holidays and religions as well. This year, that means we will be celebrating Hanukkah starting on the 26th to honor our Jewish friends. To me, it doesn’t matter what holiday you are celebrating this month – just celebrate with love and joy!
I’ve read a few books with Christmas included, but not necessarily set at the holiday, but here’s a few from our archives you might like:
- Bright Lights, Big Christmas, Mary Kay Andrews
- Five Winters, Kitty Johnson
- Holiday Romance, Catherine Walsh
- Santa Overboard, Carolyn McBride
- The Santa Suit, Mary Kay Andrews
- A Winter in New York, Josie Silver
Looking for more? Here’s a few you might like:
- A Christmas Carol, Charles Dickens
- The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, Barbara Robinson
- The Matzah Ball, Jean Meltzer
- One Big Happy Family, Susan Mallery
- Skipping Christmas, John Grisham
What books would you add to this list?
This is another playlist perfect for reading or for setting the scene of your holiday party! Pulling from some of our favorite holiday movies and traditions, I compiled some old and some newer songs perfect for celebrating the season.
