We are just six weeks from the new year. I can’t believe the holidays are upon us and it’s time to call an end to our 2024 Reading challenge. How did you do this year? I’m on target to meet my goals, but it wasn’t as easy as I remember.
With the new year will come a new reading challenge and a few changes because, well….reading should be fun. This year, the schedule of reading and writing reviews for three books weekly had me rushing through my reads without really enjoying them. I can’t do that for another year. I created this brand because I love books and I have to enjoy them again.
The Prompts
I have a preliminary list together for the 2025 prompts, but I’m still polishing it. The full list of weekly prompts will be available in December. Some will be familiar from the year, but I’m also looking to add in a few I loved from other past reading challenges to focus on the genres and themes I love. The Read With Lindsey 2025 Reading Challenge will still feature 1 prompt per week for 52 total.
Our monthly prompts are getting a makeover, too. In 2024, I focused the monthly themes on holidays or seasons which was fun, especially in terms of the reading playlist! But, instead of risking a full on repeat in 2025, we are going a different direction – colors! Each month will have a color theme with the intention that we choose books with covers in that shade. As with our monthly themes in 2024, this is an optional add on to help direct your book choices. I will be doing my best whenever possible to honor both.
Weekly Schedule
Given that 3 books a week was just a bit too much, I’m shooting for 2 per week in 2025. I’m also backing off trying to work a second challenge into my schedule. So, for 2025, I’m focused on the RWL Challenge Prompts and one Sponsored read per week. If I can work in additional reads, I definitely will, but they won’t receive full reviews.
The weekly cadence will look something like:
Sunday: Our Agenda complete with suggestions that meet the prompt category
Tuesday: Read With Lindsey Reading Challenge prompts
Thursday: Rotating articles and posts including our Monthly theme and wrap up
Saturday: Sponsored reads
