The holidays are upon us! Are stores and businesses near you in the Thanksgiving spirit, or have they jumped ahead to Christmas? Both seasons are full of family and tradition for my house. We have traditions around activities and food, but the past few years has seen us travel to North Carolina for Thanksgiving. Given that our favorite communities are still reeling from the hurricane damage, we are opting to stay local this year, but that might make our traditions a little easier to keep!
We haven’t read many books for this holiday, but here’s a few books we’ve previously reviewed that fit well with our theme this month:
- Mayflower, Nathaniel Philbrick
- Thanksgiving, Janet Evanovich
Looking for more? Here’s a few you might like:
- 1621: A new look at Thanksgiving, Catherine O’Neill Grace
- The Accidental Tourist, Anne Tyler
- Cider and Chill, Kaylin Nicole
- A Match Made for Thanksgiving, Jackie Lau
- An Old Fashioned Thanksgiving, Louisa May Alcott
- Still Life, Louise Penny
What books would you add to this list?
Our reading playlist could double as a Thanksgiving dinner soundtrack as well – a few upbeat tunes, but mostly instrumental tracks. These songs are the perfect backdrop for curling up with a good book and a hot drink (or glass of wine!).
