It’s my favorite month!! Fall festivals, Halloween, leaves changing colors…love it! There’s just something magic about this time of year for me. And what better way to celebrate this time of year that with a magical book, a cup of something warm, and a good playlist in the background?
Here’s a few books we’ve previously reviewed that fit well with our theme this month:
- At the Coffee Shop of Curiosities, Heather Webber
- The Book of Magic, Alice Hoffman
- A Certain Kind of Starlight, Heather Webber
- A Constellation of Roses, Miranda Asebedo
- The Invisible Hour, Alice Hoffman
- Magic Lessons, Alice Hoffman
- The Rules of Magic, Alice Hoffman
- South of the Buttonwood Tree, Heather Webber
Can you tell I have two favorite magical realism authors? Here’s a few others we haven’t read yet, but you might like:
- Coraline, Neil Gaiman
- Dracula, Bram Stoker
- The Halloween Tree, Ray Bradbury
- Hex Appeal, Kate Johnson
- The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, Washington Irving
- The Witches, Roald Dahl
What books would you add to this list?
When I think about music for Halloween, I tend to go either to oldies songs I grew up on or movie theme songs for some of the cult classics we all love. This month’s soundtrack may not be as laid back as some others, but it will definitely put you in the mood!
