When I think of Fall, I think of high school Friday night football games, fall festivals, apple picking, hayrides, and curling up with a warm blanket and a cup of coffee watching the sun come up every weekend. It’s about cozy vibes and warmth and the calm before the busy holiday season starts. This is the time of year when I love reading mysteries and books with magic – it just feels like a magical time of year with the way the light filters through the changing leaves! When you think of Fall, what books come to mind for you?
Here’s a few books we’ve previously reviewed that fit well with our theme this month:
- At the Coffee Shop of Curiosities, Heather Webber
- The Echo of Old Books, Barbara Davis
- The Heiress, Rachel Hawkins
- The Invisible Hour, Alice Hoffman
- Just Don’t Fall, Emma St Clair
- Murder in Tolland, David M Hamlin
- The Mysterious Affair at Styles, Agatha Christie
- The River We Remember, William Kent Krueger
- Smoke, Catherine McKenzie
There really are so many good books for Fall out there – here’s a few others you might like!
- The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
- The City Baker’s Guide to Country Living, Louise Miller
- Friday Night Lights, HG Bissinger
- In the Orchard, Eliza Minot
- The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue, Victoria Schwab
- The Secret History, Donna Tartt
What books would you add to this list?
The feeling of Fall is hard to convey into music for me. It’s life slowing down just a bit, it’s gold and burgundy-colored leaves hanging on the trees, it’s pulling sweater sleeves down over my hands while walking through those trees. It’s the scent of apples and cinnamon wafting through the house. I hope I’ve conveyed those feelings in these songs!
