August Recap & September Prompts

Our theme for August was “Back to School” – how did you do with the prompts? Looking back on the books we read, I had three 5 star books, all of which were advanced copies of upcoming releases! There are some great books hitting shelves right now!

This month, I reviewed 14 books – 9 audiobooks and 5 physical copies. Let’s take a look back the reviews of those books – click below to visit the reviews:

This is another month where I loved the 5-star books for some very different reasons. However, it was easy to pick a favorite. By far, Spirit Crossing ranked tops in my books. This book tackled so many different tough topics! I love Krueger’s writing and can’t wait to start this series at the beginning! This is actually the second month with a Krueger book in our 5-star group – we loved The River We Remember in July!

September Reading Plan

After weeks of 100+ degree temperatures in Georgia back in July, things are finally starting to cool off a tiny bit – we’re down in the 80s right now! That means Fall and some decidedly cooler temps are on the way. The first real day of Fall isn’t until the 22nd, but who says we can’t get in the mood a little early? Below are our prompts for the month – we’ll be honoring Labor Day and Grandparents’ Day, along with Hispanic Heritage Month with our choices.

This month’s prompts for the US States challenge are:

States:

  • Oklahoma
  • Oregon
  • Pennsylvania
  • Rhode Island

Other books I’m reading this month:

  • 36. Nonfiction: Lewis & Clark, Ralph K Andrist
  • 37. Sponsored: Tom Clancy Defense Protocol, Brian Andrews & Jeffrey Wilson
  • 38. TBR Stack: tbd
  • 39. Sponsored: The Christmas Inn, Pamela M. Kelley

I can’t wait to read these great books with you – keep an eye out for the weekly previews on Sundays for what I’m reviewing each week!
