This week we are talking about some of our favorite female authors. A while back, I had written about how women often had to take on male monikers in order for their writing to be published. It’s still the case in some areas, but the literary world today is much different than in Jane Austen’s time. This week, we will take a look at some of my favorite female authors, a great new book, and a look back at all the books we’ve read in August!
Here’s the books I’m looking forward to discussing with you this week. Grab your copies of these books by clicking the images below:

After reading Book Lovers last year, I knew I had to read more of Emily Henry’s works! Similar and yet so different, Beach Read was just the lighthearted romance I needed after a few more serious books!
Here’s some other great books that would work for this prompt in popular genres:
- Bestseller: The Women, Kristin Hannah
- General Fiction: Remarkably Bright Creatures, Shelby Van Pelt
- Romance: Fan Girl Down, Tessa Bailey
- Thriller: Triptych, Karen Slaughter
- Nonfiction: I Am Malala, Malala Yousafzai
- Kids: A to Z, Sandra Boynton

Confronting the Presidents
by Bill O’Reilly & Martin Dugard
Posting on Saturday, August 31st
This pair of authors had quickly become my favorite history writers. This book takes a look at all the US Presidents from Washington to Obama, with essays on Trump and Biden, too. I love their writing style – both educational and entertaining!
