This Week: August 4th

As we enter the back-to-school season, I’ve been thinking a lot about my favorite school librarians and the books they introduced me to. So many of them had animals on the cover and so do so many of my favorite books of the past few years! Do you have a favorite book with an animal on the cover?

Here’s the books I’m looking forward to discussing with you this week. Grab your copies of these books by clicking the images below:

RWL Reading Challenge – Week 32: Animal on the Cover

Furiously Happy

by Jenny Lawson

Posting on Monday, August 5th

Last year, I read Jenny Lawson’s Broken (In the best way possible) and couldn’t stop talking about her humor and honesty about mental illness and parenting. I’ve been looking forward to reading more of her work, and finally got the chance! And who wouldn’t choose a book with a psychotic looking raccoon on the cover for this prompt! Just like Broken, this book came into my hands at the perfect moment – I’ll share more with my review tomorrow!

Here’s some other great books that would work for this prompt in popular genres:

Ragtime

by E.L. Doctorow

Posting on Thursday, August 8th

When I was in high school, our show choir visited New York City to sing at Saint Patrick’s Cathedral. We also got to see a few Broadway shows. Ragtime was the one I will never forget. It is by far my favorite show and soundtrack. I was excited to discover it was based on this historical fiction novel! And yes – I 100% listened to the soundtrack while reading this book!

Here’s some other great books that would work for this prompt in popular genres:

Rotating Posts – Week 32: Nonfiction
