There have been so many great new releases in 2024, and the second half of the year looks to be no different! So many of these upcoming books are sequels to our favorite reads so far this year. What will you be picking up?
Fantasy:

Somewhere Beyond the Sea by TJ Klune

This is the much-anticipated sequel to The House in the Cerulean Sea! I cannot wait to see Arthur Parnassus’ story continue! You can find our review of the The House here.
Thriller/Suspense:

Hard to Kill by James Patterson & MIke Lupica
Releasing July 29th
This is the second installment of the Jane Smith series – a NYPD cop turned Hampton’s lawyer taking on some of the toughest defense cases. This one is being billed as Patterson’s “most stunning twist ever”

This is Why We Lied by Karin Slaughter
Releasing August 20th
Can you believe this makes book number 12 in the Will Trent series? This book sees Trent investigating a murder at an off-the-grid lodge retreat where he’s honeymooning with his new wife. Will they solve the murder, or put themselves in harm’s way?

Spirit Crossing by William Ken Krueger
Releasing August 20th
After reading The River We Remember earlier this year, I have fallen in love with the writing of this author! I will be reviewing an early copy of this book later this month – I am so excited!
Romcom:

The Au Pair Affair by Tessa Bailey
Releasing July 16th
I have been waiting for this book since I read Fangirl Down earlier this year! (Full review here) Tessa Bailey is following up our favorite golf romcom with one that stars the best friends of those main characters. I can’t wait for this one!
Nonfiction:

A Promised Land by Barack Obama
Releasing August 13th
This memoir takes readers inside the Obama family’s lives as the 44th president is elected in 2008, and then follows their journey through the White House and out the other side into private life once again. As much as I enjoyed Dreams of my Father, I hope to love this one, too!

Confronting the Presidents by Bill O’Reilly & Martin Dugard
Releasing September 10th
The duo that brought us Killing Lincoln and Killing Jesus is back with a new look at all our American Presidents. Readers are promised a look at unheard of facts and surprising tales along the way.
