Representation of minorities and at-risk groups in the media is a topic close to my heart. I love reading books by authors of color, or from other protected groups. Hearing from voices with varying backgrounds gives a reader ideas and perspectives they wouldn’t otherwise have. This week we are looking at books by Asian and Pacific Islander authors, as well as those by authors in the LGBTQ+ community!
Here’s the books I’m looking forward to discussing with you this week. Grab your copies of these books by clicking the images below:

LGBTQ+ in Literature
Posting on Wednesday, May 15th
Friday is the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia. Between this observation and the upcoming Pride Month in June, I thought this would be a good time to look at representation in literature both through authors in this community and characters in mainstream books!
