This Week: April 14th

Last week, I traveled for work and didn’t get as much time to read as I normal. Do you like to take books with you while you travel? I have always avoided taking my Kindle with me because I’m afraid I’ll lose it, but after this trip, I’m taking it every time going forward! It was so much easier to pack and worked great! If you consider it’s also easier on the environment in terms of saving paper and trees, it’s great for Earth Day, which is coming up this week.

Here’s the books I’m looking forward to discussing with you this week. Grab your copies of these books by clicking the images below:

RWL Reading Challenge – Week 16: Author Shares Your Last Initial

Anxious People

by Fredrik Backman

Posting on Monday, April 15th

I grew to love Backman’s writing after reading A Man Called Ove last year. This book kept me laughing and on the edge of my seat the entire time! Backman has a way of writing about big topics that make them easy to discuss and removes the stigma around them, especially mental health.

Typically, I give you a list of great suggestions for the prompt, but because there are 26 different categories to choose from this week, I’m forgoing the list. Drop me your favorite author that shares your last initial in the comments!

Earth Day Reads

Posting on Wednesday, April 17th

Earth Day is Monday, April 22nd, so I thought we could look at great books about our environment and the world around us. We’ll look at both fiction and nonfiction reads, along with some children’s books

US States Challenge – Week 16: Kansas

A Constellation of Roses

by Miranda Asebedo

Posting on Thursday, April 18th

I picked this book because it also fit with our monthly theme of Spring or Flowers. I did not expect the magical realism or family drama to be so endearing! I love these characters and hated to see the end of this book!

Here’s some other great books that would work for this prompt in popular genres:

Rotating Posts – Week 16: TBR

Thomas Jefferson and the Tripoli Pirates

by Brian Kilmeade and Don Yaeger

Posting on Saturday, April 20th

I’ve had this book on the TBR list for quite a while! I don’t remember learning about this in history class and couldn’t resist when I saw the title. You’re going to love it!
