I feel like every New Years Day, people start new habits and new goals with the intention of getting it done…but they don’t. Are you one of those people? I have been making a point of not starting new habits in January the past few years – why wait till January if I feel like trying something in October? But the great news is that every new book is a new beginning – and we have so many planned with the Reading Challenge this year!
When I think of authors who write about “new beginnings” though, my mind immediately goes to Fredrik Backman or Kristin Hannah – so many of their characters are getting fresh starts in life! There are some great books that fall into this category that we read last year or are sitting on my TBR shelf right now. Here’s a few:
- Wild by Cheryl Strayed
- Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert
- Under the Tuscan Sun by Frances Mayes
- The Storied Life of A.J. Fikrey by Gabrielle Zevin
- Evvie Drake Starts Over by Linda Holmes
- Virgin River by Robyn Carr
- The House in the Cerulean Sea by T.J. Klune
What books would you add to this list?
If you’re like me, you like to have music or some kind of noise while you read – I just can’t read in utter silence! Here’s my Spotify playlist for this month – January 2024 – New Beginnings. Any songs you’d add?
