This Week: November 26th

I hope you’ve had a great Thanksgiving week! We are on our way home from our family vacation today – we had so much fun! Have you been following along on Threads with all the bookish places we’ve been?

Here’s the books I’m looking forward to discussing with you this week. Grab your copies of these books by clicking the images below:

The Butterfly Collector

by Tea Cooper

Posting on Monday, November 27th

Prompt: Releasing this week!

This is another Read With Lindsey Most Anticipated Release of 2023! The historical fiction I typically read is based in the US or Europe, but this beautifully written story is set in Australia. Cooper recounts the epidemic of baby theft in the late 1860’s and also how the Monarch butterfly first arrived in the country. Isn’t this cover gorgeous?!

Murder in Coweta County

by Margaret Anne Barnes

Posting on Wednesday, November 29th

Prompt: Nonfiction by an author from your state

I’ve been on a true crime kick this month! I had never heard of this book until I went to research books that fit this prompt – it’s the story of a gruesome 1948 murder and cover up that rocked the state. Coweta County is next door to the county I grew up in and the one where I now live. This is southern fiction and true crime at its best…and it was made into a movie starring Johnny Cash and Andy Griffith as the sheriff and criminal respectively! I posted on Threads after finishing this book that it was wild to read names of people I have personally met as well as family friends in this book!

Tom Lake

by Ann Patchett

Posting on Thursday, November 30th

Prompt: The Girlfriend Book Club November selection

I have been a fan of Patchett’s work since reading The Dutch House last year – this one did not disappoint! If you’re looking for a good book about a relationship between a mother and daughters who are grown and leaving the house, this is a great choice!

November Recap and December Preview

Posting on Friday, December 1st

I can’t believe it’s already December! We’ll take a look back at the books we read in November and talk about what’s coming up for the new month!

Everything is F*cked

by Mark Manson

Posting on Saturday, December 2nd

Prompt: November Self-Development

You may know Mason’s name from his other book The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck. Both books were best sellers for several weeks. I’ll be honest – I’m just starting the book and I wasn’t a fan of The Subtle Art, so I’m not sure I’ll be a fan of this one…we shall see.
