We are officially into holiday season this week! With Veterans Day yesterday, and Diwali later this week, along with Thanksgiving next week, it feels like there is so much to celebrate. Are you ready for the holidays yet? I’ve got my books lined up for all my time away for work, but there’s still so much to do!
Here’s the books I’m looking forward to discussing with you this week. Grab your copies of these books by clicking the images below:
Kinfolk
by Sean Dietrich
Posting on Monday, November 13th
Prompt: Releasing this week!
This is a Read With Lindsey Most Anticipated Release of 2023! I reviewed an advanced copy a few months ago and post the full review Monday. This novel is a beautiful Southern Gothic novel – you’re going to love it!
Author Event Recap: Gen. David Petraeus
Discussing Conflict: The evolution of warfare from 1945 to Ukraine
Posting on Wednesday, November 15th
I’ll be back at the Atlanta History Center this week to hear General Petraeus speak about his new book. While not military myself, I have been military-adjacent most of my life – granddaughter, niece, girlfriend, fiancée, ex-wife. I’m looking forward to hearing him share his perspective on modern warfare and how it has changed since WWII.
Born Confused
by Tanuja Desai Hidier
Posting on Thursday, November 16th
Prompt: Diwali
When I was in search of a book to read for Diwali this year, this specific book popped up in multiple lists of suggestions. It’s a YA take on what it means to be Indian-American and dealing with both feeling too Indian in some circles, and too American in others. This is a beautiful coming of age story!
Nights in Rodanthe
by Nicholas Sparks
Posting on Friday, November 17th
Prompt: Modern Classic
I’ve wanted to read this one for quite a while and I’m happy I found a place for it this month before we head off to North Carolina’s Outer Banks for the Thanksgiving holiday. Set in Rodanthe in the mid-OBX islands, this is a haunting love story – I can tell why the movie was such a hit (not that I’ve read it yet!!).
The Getaway List
by Emma Lord
Posting on Saturday, November 18th
Prompt: Sponsored Read
This was my second YA novel for the week! I love Emma Lord and jumped at the chance to review her newest book coming soon. This one is perfect for those high school grads taking a leap year or just not quite sure what the future holds for them!
