This Week: November 5th

This past week has been crazy for me! I drove from our home near Atlanta down to Miami for my day job on Monday, then back on Friday. Nine plus hours in the truck each way gave me plenty of time to enjoy my audiobooks! I also found plenty of time to read my print books at the hotel after work – one benefit to work travel is a quite hotel room to read in! Did you get much reading done last week?

Here’s the books I’m looking forward to discussing with you this week. Grab your copies of these books by clicking the images below:

The Good Part

by Sophie Cousens

Posting on Monday, November 6th

Prompt: Releasing this week!

This is a Read With Lindsey Most Anticipated Release of 2023! I reviewed an advanced copy a few months ago and post the full review Monday. This novel asks the question, “what would you do if you could skip ahead to The Good Part of life?”

Author Event Recap: Henry Winkler

Discussing Being Henry: The Fonz…and Beyond

Posting on Tuesday, November 7th

Can I just say how excited I am for this event! Henry Winkler is a legend in our house! This will be my second “celebrity” book event and I’m hoping this one is better than the last where the author showed up late and was less than genuine with her fans. Winkler comes across a little more grounded than the other person. I can’t wait to read his stories, too!

Casalvento: House of the Wind

by Gudrun Cuillo

Posting on Thursday, November 9th

Prompt: Sponsored Read

How beautiful is this cover? This is a beautiful story of finding your roots and discovering who you really are in this world. If you enjoyed Eat, Pray, Love or Under The Tuscan Sun, you will adore this book! And there’s recipes and wine pairings at the end!!

The Book of Magic

by Alice Hoffman

Posting on Friday, November 10th

Prompt: About Magic

This is the fourth and final book in the Practical Magic series! This book follows our favorite sisters Sally and Gillian as well as Sally’s two daughters as they deal with the family curse, loss of loved ones, and discovery of the grandfather (and great-grandfather) they never knew existed. Pulling together parts of all three previous books, this is the perfect ending to the series. I hate saying goodbye to these characters!

Lawrence in Arabia

by Scott Anderson

Posting on Saturday, November 11th

Prompt: Veteran’s Day and November’s Historical Biography

T.E. Lawrence is something of a myth more than a man in the current day, but he was so much more a century ago. This is the audiobook I listened to on my trip and I was amazed – so many people and places discussed in this book are prominent in today’s political climate with the unrest in the Middle East. Allepo, Jerusalem, Gaza, Egypt, Turkey, and more, along with some of the most prominent families in the region. This book tied it all together for me in a way I never got from history class!
