October was a slower reading month as I am working ahead on my reading list for the rest of the year in preparation for the Read With Lindsey 2024 Reading Challenge! I finished 12 this month – 6 audio and 6 print books. Let’s take a look back the reviews of those books – click below to visit the reviews:
5 Stars
- A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Bachman
- South of the Buttonwood Tree by Heather Webber
- The Rules of Magic by Alice Hoffman
- The Storyteller by Dave Grohl
These books are so different front one another and I loved each for a different reason. Overall, my favorite was A Man Called Ove. I connected with this book because of how realistic it was. Any maybe a tiny bit because I see my future self in Ove – cranky, set in their ways, and despondent after the loss of their loved one. It was a gut-wrenching read for me and one that will stay with me for a very long time.
4 Stars
- Betting on You by Laurie Ruettimann
- Casalvento by Gudrun Cuillo (review coming next week)
- Homeward by Angela Jackson-Brown
- Island of the Blue Dolphins by Scott O’Dell (review coming next week)
- Magic Lessons by Alice Hoffman
- The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows
- Wildflower Falls by Denise Hunter
3 Stars
- John Marshall by Harlow G Unger (review posting tomorrow)
