Agenda: Week of September 10th

Time to start September week #2! How are you doing with your September reads? Did you read extra last week because of the holiday – I know I did! This week, we have three great books coming up. To grab your copies, click the images below:

The Emperor’s Children

by Claire Messud

Posting on Patriot’s Day, September 11th

Prompt: Patriot’s Day

While not specifically about the September 11th attacks, this book is set in NYC during 2001. It is interesting to read about life in the city just before the deadly attacks – I was a college Sophomore in Fall 2001 and don’t remember a lot about the economics of that era.

New Release Tuesday

Posting on Tuesday, September 12th

Lead From The Outside

by Stacey Abrams

Posting on Thursday, September 14th

Prompt: September Self Development

Abrams is known as a local politician here in Georgia, but she is so much more. An entrepreur, voting rights activist, and tax attorney…on top of family commitments. I did NOT pick this up because of her politics – I don’t necessarily agree or disagree with her stances. This was actually recommended by a friend as a business book. If you follow me on Instagram, I’ve been posting quotes from this book as I am reading. This book feels like an affirmation for all my professional goals and I can’t wait to share the full review!

How big is your TBR stack?

Posting on Friday, September 15th

Let’s talk about those TBR stacks. Specifically…do you have limits? Do you keep a list? How long do you let books hang out there?

Eligible: A novel

by Curtis Sittenfeld

Posting on Saturday, September 16th

Prompt: A Jane Austen retelling

My favorite Austen book, and possibly my favorite of all time, is Pride and Prejudice! I’m excited to read this take on that story. Released in 2016, it is set in an American modern age of work out studios, reality dating TV shows, and online universities.
