Triangle
by Katharine Weber
Posting on Monday, September 4th
Prompt: Labor Day
I have always been intrigued by the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire and am looking forward to digging into this story with this unique take. This is Weber’s attempt at understanding how her paternal grandmother was one of a handful to survive the disaster.

Tom Clancy Command and Control
by Marc Cameron
Posting on Monday, September 7th
Prompt: Sponsored Read
I love the Jack Ryan books! I am very excited to have the opportunity to review the ARC for Marc Cameron’s last book in the Ryanverse, due out later this year. This one is set in the Ryan presidency era. I have been reading through the series in the order written and haven’t made it to the presidency yet – this book is so great!
Author Event Recap
Posting on Friday, September 8th
I will be back at the Atlanta History Center this week to hear Tracey Enerson Wood discuss her latest book The President’s Wife. This book recounts the marriage of President Woodrow Wilson and his wife Edith, along with the events that would make her one of the notorious proxy presidents in American History. The Wilsons are one of only three presidential couples to marry while in office.
The Summer Book
by Tove Jansson
Posting on Saturday, September 9th
Prompt: Grandparents’ Day
This might be the first book I’ve read that was originally printed in Swedish! I am excited to read this one as the reviews remind me so much of my childhood. A little girl is just starting out in life and trying to find her way. Her grandmother, at the other end of life’s spectrum, is passing on wisdom and stories of her own life. I grew up with weekly visits to my grandparents who did just that for me!
